Tips for making it an Eco-friendly Easter

Easter is fast approaching, and it’s easy to get caught up with buying decorations, new cute baskets and plastic eggs. However we really don’t need these things and neither do our children to enjoy the special celebrations. Any opportunity to be eco-friendly and encourage our children to do so is taking positive steps in a positive future for our environment.

Here we have complied a list of some things that you can do to help reduce waste and promote an eco-friendly holiday.

~ Easter Bucket~ grab yourself one of our ‘The Aussie Bucket’ a perfect addition to your Easter, but with added bonuses of it being made from 100% recyclable silicone. Making it a great eco-friendly option. Not to mention the 100 other things your child can use it for in the future. https://www.wildandwandering.com.au/products/silicone-beach-bucket-and-spade

~Decorate eggs~ No need to purchase plastic eggs to hide, or all the Easter decorations for your table. Instead why not enjoy some special time with your child/ren and die some eggs. Not only will you have a great time making them, they look beautiful on your table.

~Chocolate eggs~ A fun little activity you can do with your family is make your own chocolates, our Aussie moulds are 100% food safe so would make the cutest Aussie Easter addition https://www.wildandwandering.com.au/products/australian-silicone-moulds

~Recycle~ Did you know you can recycle the foil from your Easter eggs? Scrunch it up and pop it in your recycle bin. Another option is encourage your children to open their eggs without ripping the foil, not only a fun competition, but there are loads of fun art and craft activities you can make with the foil (think beautiful mermaid tails or fish scales).

Hot cross buns are delicious and a firm favourite in our family, make sure you are recycling the bags at your local supermarket.

Most of all enjoy your Easter, take time to connect with your family and friends and stay safe.
